QNH is a Q codes defined as the barometric pressure at an airport adjusted to sea level using the ICAO Standard Atmosphere. On the ground, an altimeter set to QNH reads the elevation of the airport.

Why does the QNH of an aircraft change or need to be changed?
If the QNH is set to show the airfield elevation above mean sea level, would it change at a specific aerodrome? And if so, why? … What are areas of low and high pressure and why would the QNH need to be changed in those areas? …
