May 16, 2022 at 14:44 comment added StephenS @GdD I’ve had ATC ask me to maintain max speed (~140) to the FAF. That’s fine with me since I can dump the gear/flaps and slow to 90 within a few seconds, but according to two CFIIs, it’s still not legal to call myself Cat A.
May 16, 2022 at 14:07 comment added GdD I don't think there is a reg for that, it partly depends on the airplane I suppose. Dirtier (i.e. draggier) airplanes slow down faster so you don't have to slow down as soon.
