Feb 4, 2019 at 9:32 comment added MSalters @CSM: Carbon monoxide, actually. But I agree with the premise. Biofuels are much easier to manufacture, and plants are pretty good at turning carbon dioxide into hydrocarbons.

Until a vast majority of the world's electricity is produced by renewable or nuclear, it is unlikely that artifically produced hydrocarbons will be used for jet fuel
