However, go-around with an engine failure is different from a balked landing with an engine failure in so far as regulations require the operator to only consider the first case when calculating terrain and obstacle clearance. This means that, from a purely legal standpoint, a balked landing with an engine failure is not a manoeuvre where safety of continued flight is assured, while a go-around with an engine failure is. | |
