The Airbus A380 is a four-engine, double-deck, wide-body aircraft produced by Airbus since 2005 (it first flew commercially in 2007). In a typical configuration (according to Airbus) it can carry 525 passengers but it has been shown to be capable of carrying over 850 with an 'economy only' configuration. The A380 requires upgraded airport facilities to allow ground operations, including ramp space, reinforced pavements and loading vehicles.

As of mid-2015 it is the largest aircraft in production in the world.
