I usually try not to toss up 'worst case' scenarios..., but would a plane be able to land on the long, flat snow that can be seen in pictures of Antarctica? My first thought we be a military escort would tell you that you were heading off-course, but if that message doesn't get through (technical problems with radio etc.), do they shoot you down? And if by some odd chance the military misses your "blip" on radar, and try to land on snow/(ice?) in Antarctica, is there a chance that the snow might absorb at least some of the initial impact thus leaving the plane intact/safe/landed. Anyway, I would hope for survivors of course, but with temperatures (up to -89°C)..., that's gotta be uncomfortable, to say the least.
