I am most familiar with cable driven recording tachometers. I have a tach-generator on a continental IO-470, which has been driving a two-hand tachometer with no time recording feature. I would like a time recording feature in the aircraft. Shopping for tachometers with the criteria of:

  1. Driven by a 4 pole tach-generator
  2. Records hours

..has proven more challenging than expected.

I am in the process of preparing for an airworthiness inspection in the FAA's jurisdiction for a classic aircraft which was purchased from another country. I may go to an EIS in the future, but the immediate goals is obtaining a US airworthiness certificate.
