I recently travelled from IAD to DEL and back. While going the plane went non stop to DEL via Mumbai but while coming back the plane halted for almost two hours. The announcement made on the communication system was "The plane is being refueled". My question is when we are taking the same route while going and coming back why the plane landed in Mumbai and stopped there for two hours for refuel on the return journey. Why wasn't the plane fueled for the non stop journey. Also this was not a one time thing, they have been following the same pattern on return journey till now

  • $\begingroup$ "Non stop to DEL via Mumbai". So which one is it, non-stop or with a stop in Mumbai? $\endgroup$ – J. Hougaard Apr 23 at 13:37
