I have an Indian ATPL, I am type rated on the A-320 as PIC with a total of 5000 plus hours including military experience as a flying instructor.

If I get a Canadian ATPL, what are the chances of getting a job at AC or west jet on a work permit? I plan on getting a PR once settled in.

  • $\begingroup$ For those who are unfamiliar with the Canadian immigration system, this is effectively a question about whether Canadian major airlines have trouble recruiting Canadian pilots. (Under the Canadian system, any company wanting to hire a foreign worker must first advertise in Canada; if unsuccessful, they can then apply for a waiver that certifies that Canadian workers will not be adversely impacted by "importing" foreign workers.) $\endgroup$ – Michael Seifert Oct 6 '17 at 19:53
