This is basically a rollback to the original answer, with the only addition being the use of Mathjax. The numerous edits made previously (mostly by me) have perhaps made too drastic changes, and none of those edits were either made or consented for by the original answerer.

Long story short: Sophit asked me to fix the math, I did so - but quickly realised that the changes made to the answer were drastic. I still submitted my edit proposal and against all odds it got approved. Now, I still believe that the message of the answer is still presented as originally intended by the answerer, and that all of those added phrases are only there to support the new fixed math. If you believe that my edits have been too drastic, let me know if you recommend me to revert to an older edit with only the Mathjax addition. | |

Helping the author by changing the equations into Mathjax would be a good idea, correcting spelling mistakes etc. But extensive addition of phrases is not done on this site | |

Changed the sentence preceding the final equation, since it may cause confusion in its current state. Made some grammatical and technical corrections in the last paragraph.

This edit drastically changes the mathematical angle of the answer to better suit the needs of the question, while fully insuring that the fundamental concept is presented as intended by the answerer.

In my previous edit, if you look at the last equation, I cancelled the wrong mass - a silly mistake with major consequences. This edit corrects that.
